Red Sox signed LHP Skylar Arias to a minor league contract.
Arias was a 24th-round selection of the Guardians back in 2016 and has yet to pitch above the Double-A level. The 25-year-old southpaw finished last season with a lackluster 3.91 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 37/17 K/BB ratio across 23 innings (24 appearances) for High-A Winston-Salem in the White Sox’ minor league system. He’ll serve as organizational relief depth for the Red Sox.
