Tony Beasley is interviewing for the Rangers’ manager job on Friday.
Beasley served as interim manager, and compiled a 17-31 record after taking over for Chris Woodward. The 55-year-old’s record wasn’t impressive, but obviously expectations were low considering the Rangers’ pitching woes and the teams ahead of Texas in the division.

Doug Mathis and Brendan Sagara will not return for the Rangers as co-pitching coaches in 2023.
Mathis won’t return to the organization at all, while Sagara has been offered another position in the organization. Interim first base coach Josh Johnson will also operate in a player-development role. The Rangers are one of several teams that will likely have new managers next year -- Tony Beasley is still being considered after taking over for Chris Woodward in August -- so more coaching changes are likely on the horizon.
