Rays LHP prospect Travis Ott twirled six scoreless innings Monday in a win for Low-A Hudson Valley.
The only hit he allowed came in the fourth inning on a one-out single by West Virginia SS Stephen Alemais. Ott used to throw sidearm but spent the offseason working on a more traditional over-the-top delivery. Obviously the new throwing motion has worked wonders. Ott hasn’t allowed a run in 19 2/3 innings this year and has held opponents to a minuscule .079 average with 19 punch-outs in 63 at-bats.

Rays acquired LHP Travis Ott from the Nationals in the Wil Myers trade.
A 25th-round pick in 2013, Ott holds a 3.96 ERA with 77 strikeouts over 84 pro innings. The left-hander is just 19 and is a lottery ticket addition by the Rays.
