Athletics signed RHP Travis Schlichting to a minor league contract.
Schlichting held an ugly 7.10 ERA in 51 games last season for Triple-A Albuquerque in the Dodgers organization. He was decent for them at the major league level for 14 appearances in 2010, though, and will offer the A’s some organizational depth.

Dodgers recalled RHP Travis Schlichting from Double-A Chattanooga.
Schlichting, a converted third baseman, is making his major league debut. Whether he’ll actually get into a game or not is unclear, as the Dodgers could send him right back down to make room for Hiroki Kuroda tomorrow. Schlichting had allowed five runs -- one earned -- in 13 2/3 innings for Chattanooga.

Dodgers optioned RHP Travis Schlicting to Triple-A Reno.
Schlicting was recalled at the end of May, but only saw action in two games. He had a 3.38 ERA with two strikeouts and five walks in just 2 2/3 innings. He was replaced on the roster by James McDonald.

Travis Schlichting picked up his second save for Surprise of the AFL with a scoreless inning on Friday.
Schlichting was drafted as a third baseman by the Rays, but he made the move to the mound with the Dodgers last season and had a 3.77 ERA in 59 2/3 innings as a reliever for Double-A Jacksonville. In the AFL, he’s allowed just an unearned run over eight innings. He still needs to improve his slider, but he has a chance of reaching the majors as a middle man.

Dodgers purchased the contracts of RHP Travis Schlichting, RHP Jesus Castillo, LHP Victor Garate, LHP Brent Leach and OF Jamie Hoffman to 40-man roster.
The Dodgers’ better prospects don’t have to be protected yet. Schlichting is an interesting case, having made the move from third base to the mound in 2007. He’s not ready for the majors after posting a 3.77 ERA in 59 2/3 innings in Double-A last season, but he might make it as a middle reliever.
  • INT 2nd Baseman
Dodgers optioned INF Tony Abreu, RHP Jesus Castillo, RHP Travis Schlichting, LHP Victor Garate, LHP Brent Leach and C Lucas May to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Abreu missed most of last season with a groin injury and was still limited in camp this season. He went 1-for-12. He might need a trade and a fresh start, though he deserves far more blame for his current predicament than the Dodgers do.

The Dodgers are planning to call up right-hander Travis Schlichting from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
He’ll take the place of the injured Chad Billingsley on the 25-man roster. Schlichting, 25, earned his first major league win with four innings of scoreless relief in an extra-inning game with the Diamondbacks on June 2. He has a 4.29 ERA over 19 relief appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque this season.

Dodgers recalled RHP Travis Schlichting from Triple-A Albuquerque.
As expected, Schlichting will take the place of the injured Chad Billingsley on the 25-man roster. The 25-year-old right-hander earned his first ML victory with four scoreless innings of relief in an extra-inning with over the Diamondbacks earlier this month. He has a 4.29 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 19 relief appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque this season.

Dodgers optioned RHP Travis Schlichting to Triple-A Albuquerque.
The 25-year-old right-hander returns to a 4.29 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 19 relief appearances with Albuquerque earlier this season. Schlichting posted a solid 2.86 ERA in 22 innings for the Dodgers but was a victim of a roster crunch. He’ll be back in September.

Dodgers recalled RHP Travis Schlichting from Triple-A Albuquerque.
The 25-year-old righty was 2-0 with a 4.05 ERA in 31 1/3 innings at Albuquerque and will be asked to bring a little consistency to the middle of the Dodgers’ bullpen. His stay in the bigs could be short.
