    Dodgers released INF Tyler Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald burst onto the fantasy radar in 2024 when he hit 15 home runs and stole 17 bases while hitting .280/.334/.497 for the Giants. He has not been able to create that magic since and was hitting .237/.336/.465 with six HRs and 22 RBI in 24 games in Triple-A this season. He will try to land a minor league deal with another team.
  • FA Left Fielder #0
    Rangers released OF Sam Haggerty.
Haggerty passed through waivers unclaimed and hits the open market following a two-year stint with the Rangers where he got into exactly 100 games for the club. The 32-year-old still makes sense as a bench outfielder and should be able to find a new opportunity relatively quickly.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #41
Brewers RHP Jake Woodford elected free agency.
Woodford hits the free agent pool after passing through waivers unclaimed following his removal from Milwaukee’s roster mix. The 29-year-old journeyman posted an underwhelming 6.94 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 20/7 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings during his time with the Brewers. He should be able to latch on somewhere else as emergency relief depth.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #99
    Angels released RHP Taijuan Walker.
Walker signed a minor league deal with the Angels on May 23rd, but had an out in that deal, so he exercised that and was released. The 33-year-old will look to latch on with another team, likely on another minor league deal.

  • FA Relief Pitcher #56
Phillies RHP Zach Pop elected free agency.
Pop was jettisoned from Philadelphia’s relief mix last weekend after just seven appearances earlier this season. The 29-year-old was hit hard during a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley while working his way back from a calf strain that put him on the injured list back in mid-April. He should be able to latch on somewhere else as organizational depth.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #47
    Giants released LHP Ryan Borucki.
Borucki has been cut loose after going unclaimed on waivers following his removal from San Francisco’s bullpen mix earlier this week. The well-traveled 32-year-old southpaw posted an underwhelming 4.94 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 15/9 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings for the Giants this season.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #62
    Mets released LHP Anderson Severino.
Severino has been cut loose to pursue a more lucrative opportunity overseas in Japan, according to The Athletic’s Will Sammon. The 31-year-old passed through waivers unclaimed after being removed from New York’s 40-man roster last week. He didn’t end up making an appearance for the Mets after signing a minor league contract last offseason.
  • FA Catcher #43
The Rangers are signing Elias Díaz to a major league contract, sources told Daniel Álvarez-Montes.
Díaz was let go by the Royals last week after going 5-for-22 with two homers in 23 plate appearances over 10 games. Barring a surprising decision to place Danny Jansen or Kyle Higashioka on the IL, it appears that he’ll be joining the Rangers as a third catcher, freeing up the top two catchers to start between catcher and DH against lefties. Justin Foscue or Michael Helman could be bumped from the roster.
  • FA Right Fielder #21
    Padres released OF Nick Castellanos.
Castellanos was designated for assignment earlier in the week and went unclaimed. He’s now free once more to explore the open market. The 34-year-old slashed just .191/.221/.339 with four homers and 20 RBI in 122 plate appearances with the Padres and seems to have lost the ability to mash left-handed pitching, which used to be his calling card. He can be had for the league minimum if any teams are interested.
  • FA Left Fielder
    Astros released OF Rhylan Thomas.
The 26-year-old outfielder had been designated for assignment on Thursday and passed through waivers unclaimed. He’s now free to peddle his wares on the open market. Thomas has hit .253/.304/.307 with two homers and 12 RBI in 185 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season.
