The 20-year-old hasn’t shown much plate discipline (298/67 K/BB ratio) as a pro and is still quite raw, but the Reds aren’t ready to give up on his tools.

According to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, Yorman Rodriguez will get the opportunity to earn a spot in the Reds’ outfield during spring training.
The longtime prospect is out of minor league options, so if he doesn’t crack the Opening Day roster, he would likely be claimed by another club. Rodriguez slashed .269/.308/.429 with 10 homers and 41 RBI in 85 games at Triple-A Louisville in 2015 before a calf injury ended his season prematurely.
