NASCAR announced warnings to four Sprint Cup teams from prerace inspection this past weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, including six-time series champion Jimmie Johnson.

The warnings were assessed for the following:

* No. 48 Chevrolet (driver: Jimmie Johnson) for failing the laser inspection station twice.

* No. 9 Ford (driver: Sam Hornish Jr.) for failing templates twice.

* No. 35 Ford (driver: Cole Whitt) for failing templates twice.

* No. 40 Chevrolet (driver: Landon Cassill) for failing templates twice.

NASCAR modified its warnings policy in August so that a team that accumulates four warnings will lose the chance to pick their pit stall at the next race. It’s the first warning for each team since the new rule.
