NASCAR moved the conclusion of the Bass Pro Shops NRA 500 to Sunday afternoon after persistent rain showers at Bristol Motor Speedway halted racing 48 laps into Saturday night’s Sprint Cup race.

The 500-lap event will restart at 1 p.m. Sunday and be televised on CNBC.

Kyle Busch is leading, followed by Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth.

Martin Truex Jr., Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Joey Logano and Kyle Larson currently round out the top 10.

The rest of the top 20: A.J. Allmendinger, Brad Keselowski, Austin Dillon, Kasey Kahne, Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick, Paul Menard, Chris Buescher and Jamie McMurray.

The race began nearly an hour past an 8:13 p.m. scheduled start because of a shower. After completing 38 laps, more rain delayed the race by 90 minutes. After drying the track and running 10 laps under caution, a final storm caused the postponement to be made official at around 11:20 p.m.

The Sprint Cup garage will open at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Grandstand gates to the 0.533-mile oval will open at 11 a.m.
