Alessandro Gentile is not being listed on the Rockets’ training camp roster.
He was hoping to get an invite, but he had to undergo surgery to repair a fractured right hand in May and is still recovering from that. It seems the draft-and-stash will be spending another year in Europe.

Alessandro Gentile was nearly traded to the Knicks prior to the draft according to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Rockets currently own his draft rights, but it’s not clear what the Knicks were offering. The 23-year-old Gentile said that he wants to join the NBA next season, and the report adds that three different NBA teams will try to acquire him when free agency begins on July 1.

Alessandro Gentile said that his goal is to play in the NBA next season.
“My goal is to play in the NBA next year,” Gentile told The Vertical. “I really hope this can happen. For me, Mike D’Antoni is like a legend in Italian basketball, an example for everyone. For him to coach me would be very, very nice.” The Rockets own Gentile’s draft rights, and they reportedly have “significant interest” in bringing him stateside, although they’re unlikely to officially sign him until later in July after the major free agent decisions have been made.

The Wolves sold their final draft pick to the Rockets, who selected Italian swingman Alessandro Gentile No. 53 overall.
Gentile is 6'6" but he has a guard’s skill-set, and made 38.5 percent of his 3-pointers in the Italian league last season. Rockets GM Daryl Morey said that the 21-year-old prospect may even crack the rotation as a rookie, but he’s not worth touching in fantasy leagues.

There is a good chance that Alessandro Gentile will join the Rockets next season, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.
The Rockets hold the draft rights to the 22-year-old and will look to bring him over to the NBA next season. Gentile is still playing in Italy, however, so he can be left on waiver wires in all fantasy leagues for the 2015-16 season.

Alessandro Gentile will join the Rockets for training camp.
Gentile was the 53rd pick in the 2014 draft and has been stashed overseas. A fracture in his right hand kept him out of the Summer League, but after his second surgery in two years he’s reportedly healthy again. The Rockets will have 14 guaranteed contracts once they sign De’Anthony Melton, so Gentile will have a chance to fight for the 15th and final spot.

Alessandro Gentile will have surgery to repair a fracture in his right hand.
He won’t be able to play in Las Vegas and he will miss the FIBA qualifiers over the summer, as well. Gentile is a draft-and-stash player for the Rockets and did previously commit to playing in Vegas earlier this season. He likely won’t be coming over next year either.

Alessandro Gentile said he wants to stay overseas and play two more seasons with Olimpia EA7 Milano.
The 21-year-old small forward went 53rd in the draft and was not expected to join the Rockets this season. Gentile can be ignored in all formats.
