Daniel Gibson (foot) got a second opinion and will “likely” need surgery.
This should make it official that Gibson won’t be returning this season. Anthony Parker, Alonzo Gee, Omri Casspi and Manny Harris should all see a slight bump in minutes to make up for the 26 minutes that Gibson had been playing.
  • Small Forward #7
Alonzo Gee cooled off to score just three points on Wednesday, but still came through with nine rebounds, four assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer.
He’ll score more than this on most nights, as he hit just 1-of-6 shots, and played 35 minutes. He’s been filling stat sheets for several weeks now, and is nearly a must-own player in any fantasy league.
  • Small Forward #7
Beat writer Tom Reed expects the Cavs to try to sign restricted free agent Alonzo Gee to a multi-year contract.
Gee started 31 games for the Cavs this season, averaging 11.6 points and 6.2 rebounds in that role. But on a good team, he ideally fits as an athlete off the bench.
  • Small Forward #7
Alonzo Gee, who has been in a major shooting slump recently, continued to struggle on Friday, scoring just six points on 3-of-11 shooting off the bench
Gee has only shot 50 percent or better once in his last eight games, and has been a borderline fantasy player in 12-team leagues over the past couple of weeks. Coach Byron Scott was not happy after the game, saying lineup changes could be a possibility, but we tend to think Gee’s role is going to stay the same.
  • Small Forward #7
Alonzo Gee had just four points, five rebounds, four assists, zero steals and a block in Tuesday’s 115-90 loss to the Spurs.
He’d played very well in his previous two games, but fell back to earth tonight. He’s still worth owning in many leagues, especially with a five-game week coming up starting Monday.
  • Small Forward #7
Alonzo Gee hit just 2-of-12 shots on Friday against the Pacers, scoring four points with four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 26 minutes.
Gee’s shooting has been his biggest problem this season, but he has brought serviceable value over the past week. He has averaged 11.0 points, 6.6 boards, 3.0 assists, 0.8 blocks, 0.6 steals, and 0.6 threes over his past five games, but hit just 35 percent of his shots from the field.
  • CLE Center
Semih Erden suffered a cut above his eye that required four stitches in the first quarter on Tuesday, but was able to return for the Cavaliers.
Alonzo Gee also left with a towel over his head and went to the locker room with a possible nose injury.
  • Small Forward #7
Alonzo Gee briefly left Tuesday’s game after suffering a nose contusion.
He was able to return in the second quarter and should be good to go.
  • Small Forward #7
Alonzo Gee came off the bench and played through a nose injury to finish with 16 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and a 3-pointer on 5-of-11 shooting.
He made a key play late, gathering his own rebound and dunking it home to help secure the win for the Cavs. This was the first double-double of his career, but he’s also hit double digits in scoring in six of his last 11 games. He’s playing well enough to be given a look in many fantasy leagues.
  • Small Forward #7
Coach Byron Scott suggested that Alonzo Gee will stick as his starting small forward.
Omri Casspi had 34 games to prove he’s an NBA starter and failed. He has accepted the demotion graciously, saying he thinks it will be “good for me and the team.” Gee is averaging 11.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.0 3-pointers in four starts this season. “It’s best to put more athleticism out there and guys with more energy,” Scott said when asked about the lineup change.
