The Knicks have declined the team’s option on Billy Garrett for the 2019-20 season.
This was fully expected, as Garrett appeared in just four games for the Knicks late last season, averaging 6.5 points and 1.8 assists.

Mario Hezonja (illness), Kadeem Allen (concussion), Dennis Smith Jr. (knee) and Lance Thomas (personal) are being listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game vs. Detroit.
Hezonja was a late-scratch on Tuesday, and if Hezonja, Allen and DSJ all hit the sidelines, we could see John Jenkins or Billy Garrett get the start at point guard. The Knicks won’t be hosting a shootaround with today’s game being the second of a back-to-back set, so we won’t get another update until just prior to tip-off. Stay tuned.

The Knicks have reportedly signed SG Billy Garrett for a rest-of-season deal.
Garrett has played for New York during Summer League, and he’s been averaging 16.5 points, 3.2 boards and 3.8 assists for their G League affiliate. Kadeem Allen (concussion) has joined the Knicks’ lengthy list of injured guards, and all bets are off for coach David Fizdale’s rotation down the stretch, but it’s still hard to trust Garrett until we’ve seen him produce vs. NBA opponents.
