He played in Europe the last two years and won’t have fantasy value this year. He could struggle to make the Blazers final roster as well.

Juan Dixon and Martell Webster were a combined 0-of-14 as both of them lost ground to Smith in the race for starting shooting guard for the Blazers. Webster looks like the favorite to win the job at this point, but the Blazers are playing so poorly, Nate McMillen will probably play several different starting lineups early before he decides on one.

Juan Dixon will come off the bench and got decent minutes at the position as well. Sebastian Telfair, Darius Miles, Zach Randolph and Joel Przybilla will also start.

Smith was an afterthought for the job two weeks ago, but Juan Dixon and Martell Webster’s shooting has been horrendous thus far, prompting McMillen to look to Smith. “Most likely we are going to start him,” McMillan said. If you drafted Juan Dixon, you may be able to pick up a player with more promise at this point, although it’s still possible Dixon will be starting before this is over.

Sebastian Telfair, Darius Miles, Zach Randolph and Joel Przybilla are the other starters. Charles Smith is a very deep sleeper, but has been playing well, can hit threes and is playing just the way McMillen wants him to. Feel free to use your last-round pick on him if you need threes.

None of the Blazers played particularly well outside of Darius Miles. Give them another game before you start cutting Blazers.

You know things are bad when your leading scorer only has 11 points. And his name is Charles Smith. The Blazers have now been beaten by 32, 32 and 33 points in their last three games.

The Blazers are searching for answers, and with both Theo Ratliff and Joel Przybilla hurt right now, Ha Seung-Jin is also getting the start at center tonight for the Blazers.

With Darius Miles back, any chance Smith had for value went out the window.
