Cory Jefferson agreed to a camp deal with the Cavs.
He was with them for Summer League and he looked OK. Jefferson has an NBA frame and is fairly athletic, but he has to work on his skills.
  • Power Forward #21
Cory Jefferson will join the Cavs Summer League team in July.
He did show some bright spots with the Nets in 2014-15, but didn’t really take a step forward with the Suns despite a great opportunity in 2015-16. Jefferson played just 50 total minutes with the Suns last year. He’ll really need to impress to get on an NBA roster.
  • Point Guard #20
Kay Felder, Jordan McRae, Dahntay Jones, James Jones and Cory Jefferson will start vs. the Hawks on Monday.
The Cavaliers are resting their entire starting lineup on Monday, so they will give each of these guys a long look. Felder and McRae have been the most impressive out of this group and have a legitimate shot to crack the rotation this season. Felder is currently battling Toney Douglas for the backup PG role, while McRae will be third on the depth chart at SG, assuming J.R. Smith eventually re-signs.

The Cavs have waived F Cory Jefferson.
He was brought to Cleveland on a non-guaranteed training camp deal, but never had a realistic shot of making the opening night roster.
  • Power Forward #21
Cory Jefferson (ankle) will not play in the Nets Summer League game on Tuesday.
Jefferson is dealing with some ankle soreness, and it’ll force him to sit out Tuesday’s game. Jefferson will struggle to get minutes next year, playing behind Thaddeus Young, Mirza Teletovic and Thomas Robinson, so he won’t be worth drafting in most leagues.
  • Power Forward #21
Cory Jefferson (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury and will not continue to play in Summer League.
Jefferson showed flashes during his rookie season, so this is a bet of a setback for the 24-year-old. His partially guaranteed contract is expected to be picked up on July 15, so he should have a spot waiting for him in the Nets rotation, but Jefferson can largely be ignored by fantasy owners in standard leagues.
  • Power Forward #21
Contrary to prior reports, Cory Jefferson (ankle) will continue playing for the Nets in Summer League.
Updating a previous report saying he was shutting it down for Summer League, Jefferson has now decided to continue playing for the Nets and will play in Tuesday’s game. The 24-year-old has some upside and could crack the Nets rotation depending on how the rest of his summer goes, but he won’t be a factor in standard fantasy leagues.

    Nets waive F Cory Jefferson.
He could have stepped up with the Nets last year while they had some injuries, but he slowed down and didn’t play at all in the postseason. Jefferson was only 4-of-17 at Orlando Summer League and maybe that was a factor.
  • Power Forward #21
Cory Jefferson will be replaced on the active list by Earl Clark.
Jefferson hasn’t played in the opening two games of the playoffs, so his absence won’t have an impact on the rotation. Clark may only see the floor if the game gets out of hand.
  • Power Forward #30
Thaddeus Young (knee) has been listed as out for Friday’s game against the Cavaliers and doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Lakers.
An MRI on Young’s left knee revealed a strain, so the Nets can breathe a sigh of relief as this one looked worse. Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Johnson, Mason Plumlee, and Cory Jefferson will get the biggest fantasy boost while Young is out for Friday and likely Sunday.
