J.P. Tokoto is expected to play for New York’s summer league team, according to ESPN’s Ian Begley.
He was terrible at summer league in 2015 and the Sixers traded his rights to the Thunder. He’ll try to get an NBA career started this summer, but it’s likely he winds up back in the D-League.

The Knicks have signed J.P. Tokoto, according to Ian Begley of ESPN
Begley reports Tokoto’s deal is likely partially-guaranteed, so the signing doesn’t guarantee the 22-year-old a roster spot with the Knicks. Tokoto will likely spend most of the year in the D-League and can be ignored by fantasy owners.

    Knicks waive F J.P. Tokoto.
He’s certainly athletic enough to play in the NBA, but Tokoto just needs to really work on his jumper.
  • Shooting Guard
The 76ers selected North Carolina swingman J.P. Tokoto with the 58th pick in the draft.
He took a step back in his junior year at UNC, making just 42.8 percent from the field for averages of 8.3 points, 5.6 boards, 4.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.3 treys. He’s really improved his shooting in the past three years, but his range isn’t going to translate off the bat. Tokoto is an exciting fit in Philly because of his athleticism and the 76ers’ up-tempo offense, so he could work his way into the rotation next season.

J.P. Tokoto had his best game as a pro on Friday, scoring nine points with two rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 21 minutes.
He is still a little timid when it comes to his jumper, but the defense and awareness side of things had big improvements today. Tokoto had plenty of highlight-reel dunks, but he’s a big project. Expect the No. 58 pick to go to the D-League.
  • Shooting Guard
    The 76ers signed J.P. Tokoto to a one-year deal.
The second-round pick will be a restricted free agent after this season, assuming the team sends him a qualifying offer. At Summer League, Tokoto may have been more apprehensive on using his jumper than any other wing at the event, so that will be a problem. He’ll be at the D-League and with the big club this year and is only worth a look in extremely deep leagues.

76ers draft pick J.P. Tokoto is expected to attend training camp.
The Sixers have until Sept. 5 to make Tokoto a contract offer or allow him to become an unrestricted free agent -- either way, Tokoto is likely to spend the 2015-16 season in the D-League or overseas. The explosive athlete has a long way to go before acquiring fantasy relevance.
  • IND Guard #9
T.J. McConnell officially signed a training camp deal with the 76ers on Sunday.
The Sixers also made the signings of J.P. Tokoto, Jordan McRae and Christian Wood official on Sunday, although none of these guys are guaranteed a spot on Philadelphia’s opening-night roster.

According to CSN Philly, J.P. Tokoto will likely spend next season overseas or in the NBA D-League.
The 76ers haven’t signed Tokoto yet, but they are expected to hold onto his draft rights. We will let you know where he ends up, but it may be a while before we see him in the NBA.

The 76ers and J.P. Tokoto are working on a training camp deal.
He didn’t look like an NBA player at Summer League and was very bashful about his jumper. Tokoto is very athletic and could be one of the better dunkers in the NBA, but he’s a long way from being a consistent contributor.
