Williams was on the Cavs roster during training last September, but Cleveland waived him in order to make room for Dwyane Wade. Williams played 49 games in the G-League and averaged 15.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest. He’s a longshot to make the Cavs opening night roster this season.

The Cavs have plenty of depth at the forward spots, so Williams is a longshot to land a spot on the regular season roster.

There were rumors that the Cavs would waive Kendrick Perkins in order to clear the roster space, but perhaps Cleveland management likes the idea of Perkins playing the enforcer role at the end of the bench. Williams plans to find a new team soon, but he’s not going to land in a situation where he’ll be a relevant name in fantasy hoops.
