The Kings have waived Jamel Artis.
Artis was on a training camp deal and was a long-shot to make the final 15-man roster.

Jamel Artis has agreed to a partially-guaranteed deal with the Knicks.
It’s a make-good deal, so the 6'7" wing out of Pittsburg will have to impress at the Summer League to earn an invite to training camp. During his senior season, Artis averaged 18.2 points, 4.9 boards, 3.3 assists and 2.3 3-pointers, and he has a 43-point game on his resume vs. Louisville.

The Knicks have signed Jamel Artis to a one-year, partially guaranteed deal.
Artis played well for New York in summer league, earning him a spot on the team’s 20-man roster for training camp. While it is unlikely he makes the final 15-player roster on opening night, the Knicks still have one two-way spot open, and Artis will be competing to secure that contract.

The Magic have signed Jamel Artis to a two-way contract.
The two-way deal means that Artis will primarily be suiting up for Orlando’s G-League affiliate this season.

The Magic have recalled Jamel Artis from the G-League.
Coach Frank Vogel has talked about finding more minutes for his young players in the final weeks, so Artis will get an opportunity at some point. The 25-year-old wing averaged 19.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.0 triples in 44 G-League appearances.

Aaron Gordon (sore right calf) and Nikola Vucevic (low back tightness) are listed as probable for Sunday’s game vs. the Raptors.
Gordon and Vooch were surprise scratches for the Magic on Friday, as Orlando attempts to tank its way towards more ping pong balls. However, they will both be back in action Sunday. No word yet on their availability for Monday’s game vs. Milwaukee, which is the second night of a back-to-back. Mario Hezonja and Jamel Artis will see their playing time reduced with Gordon back in the mix.

D.J. Augustin, Wes Iwundu, Mario Hezonja, Jamel Artis and Bismack Biyombo will start against the Hornets on Friday.
Artis is coming in hot with back-to-back career-high nights, scoring 16 on Tuesday and 18 on Wednesday. He’ll be looking at over 32 minutes today and he may be able to score 20 points this time around. He’ll be a popular DFS play.

Jamel Artis scored 12 points in a start with six rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers in a 137-100 loss to the Hornets on Friday.
The Magic could shut down Aaron Gordon (calf) for the season and the Magic are fairly thin on wings, so Artis may find himself getting minutes in the 30s. He’s not much of a stat producer outside of points, but he did score 18 and 16 in his previous two. He’s on the radar in standard leagues, especially if you want points.

Jamel Artis came off the bench and played 32 minutes on his way to a career-high 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, a steal and three 3-pointers on 6-of-10 shooting in Tuesday’s easy win over the Knicks.
This is the first noise Artis has made this season and he could be primed for more minutes down the stretch, but given his track record, or lack thereof, he’s going to be very difficult to trust the rest of the way. But he’s definitely worth keeping an eye on for the Magic.

Jamel Artis scored a career-high 18 points with one block and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes against the Mavs on Wednesday.
He had a productive back-to-back set with 16 points on Tuesday. The Magic are probably going to sit some other players in the coming days, so maybe Artis can string together a few games. The rookie is on the map as a stream or DFS punt.
