Undrafted SF James Southerland will attend Bobcats’ training camp on an unguaranteed contract.
Southerland shot 39.8 percent from downtown during his senior year with Syracuse. His defense and rebounding will be under the microscope, but his excellent shooting should eventually earn him an NBA roster spot in Charlotte or somewhere else.
  • Small Forward #31
The Bobcats will waive undrafted F James Southerland to clear a roster spot for Chris Douglas-Roberts.
Southerland played under three minutes in one appearance this season, and couldn’t even crack the lineup with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (hand) and Jeff Taylor (heel) both sidelined on Monday.
  • Small Forward #31
James Southerland has signed a deal with S.Oliver Wuerzburg in Germany.
He has a total of four career NBA games under his belt and may not get another shot for a while.
  • Small Forward #31
The Blazers have reportedly signed James Southerland to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal.
The Blazers current roster is now at 16 players, and with the non-guaranteed part of his contract (and the other 15 players contracts being guaranteed) Southerland is highly unlikely to make the official roster when the season begins. Needless to say, he is not on the fantasy radar.
  • Small Forward #31
The Pelicans are expected to sign SF James Southerland for the rest of the season.
Southerland is currently playing in the D-League, though he had a forgettable stint with the Bobcats earlier this season. Although he may crack the rotation for the short-handed Pelicans, he’s not going to have fantasy value.
  • Small Forward #31
James Southerland scored 10 points in 10 minutes during his Pelicans debut on Friday, making two 3-pointers with three rebounds and one block.
He quickly joined the rotation with Brian Roberts (ankle) and Tyreke Evans (bruised knee) leaving Friday’s game in the first half. New Orleans may continue to lean on Southerland for bench production over their final three games, given how many players are injured, but he’s a poor fantasy option in such limited minutes.
  • Small Forward #31
    Pelicans signed SF James Southerland.
Battling yet another spat of injuries, the Pelicans need a body for the final four games. Southerland, undrafted out of Syracuse in 2013, was averaging 14.7 points and 6.5 rebounds for the L.A. D-Fenders in the D-League.
  • Small Forward #31
James Southerland has signed to play for Vanoli Cremona in Italy.
Southerland has played in just four NBA games during his career, and it looks like it will be a while before he gets another shot. He can be ignored in all fantasy leagues.
  • Small Forward #31
    Blazers waive forward James Southerland.
Southerland will sign an overseas deal and had no real shot to make the roster.
