The Celtics will not tender qualifying offers to P.J. Dozier, R.J. Hunter and Jonathan Gibson, reports Keith Smith of Yahoo! Sports.
None of the three players made an impact this season. The Celtics need all the cap space they can get with Kyrie Irving and Al Horford on their way out.

The Celtics have signed G Jonathan Gibson.
Boston is extremely shorthanded, and will likely throw Gibson into action immediately on Tuesday night. Gibson played four games for the Celtics late last season, and averaged 33 points per game in China in 2018-19.

Jonathan Gibson has signed a deal to play for the Qingdao Eagles in China next season.
Gibson appeared in four games for the Celtics last season. He played a total of 40 minutes and scored 34 points.
  • Shooting Guard #60
Jonathan Gibson’s three-year contract with the Mavs is only guaranteed for the first season.
Gibson will earn a guaranteed $543,471 during the first year of his deal, but Year-2 and Year-3 are both team options. Gibson was Dallas’ best player during summer league, but he’ll struggle to get meaningful minutes during the regular season while Wesley Matthews and Seth Curry are healthy.

The Mavericks have reportedly signed G Jonathan Gibson to a three-year deal.
It includes some guarantees and is a statement of faith from the Mavs in the 28-year-old who averaged a whopping 42 points per game in China last season. Gibson celebrated the deal in style, finishing Wednesday’s game with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, two 3-pointers, six rebounds and one block in just 19 minutes.

    Mavs sign G Jonathan Gibson.
The Mavs lost Deron Williams (calf) and J.J. Barea (calf) on Wednesday night, so they absolutely need another point guard. Seth Curry has a clear path for big minutes and the Mavs may even get Gibson in their rotation. We’ve also seen Justin Anderson get some minutes at the one, so he should help too. Gibson is only a deep-league add while Curry should be owned in all leagues.

    Mavericks waive G Jonathan Gibson.
Gibson’s deal was guaranteed for the first season at north of $500,000, so he’ll get a nice parting gift for his work in training camp and the preseason.
  • Shooting Guard #60
Jonathan Gibson debuted for the Mavericks on Friday with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 20 minutes.
The Mavs are down to just Seth Curry and Gibson at the point with Deron Williams, J.J. Barea and Devin Harris all on the shelf. Gibson is worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues, but Curry is much more likely to help standard-league owners. Just keep an eye on him.
  • Shooting Guard #60
Jonathan Gibson slowed down on Monday vs. the Spurs, scoring seven points on 2-of-6 shooting in 16 minutes.
He added two assists and one steal, but missed both of his triples. It was the Seth Curry show tonight and that really hurt Gibson’s shot at minutes. This was a letdown after he erupted for a career-high 26 points with six rebounds, three assists, two steals and five 3-pointers in 32 minutes on Saturday, and he could lose most of his value once the Mavs get Deron Williams (calf) and Devin Harris (toe) back in the near future. For now, Gibson is just someone to keep an eye on in deeper leagues while the Mavs are so banged up.

J.J. Barea (calf) is hoping to beat his projected timetable to return.
Barea is projected to be out for up to two months with a tear in his left calf, but is hoping he will be able to beat the projection. Barea is hoping to return close to six weeks, but isn’t worth holding in standard leagues. Seth Curry and Jonathan Gibson will continue to see big minutes while Barea is out.
