UConn center Josh Boone was taken by the Nets with the 23rd pick in the draft.
The Nets got a point guard (Marcus Williams) with the 22nd pick and a power forward/center with the 23rd. Boone plays solid interior defense and the Nets will give him a few years to develop. With the selection of Williams and Boone, four UConn players have been taken in the top 23 picks. And again, these are guys the Knicks should have taken with the 20th pick.

Josh Boone’s rehab from shoulder surgery is going well and he might miss less time than originally thought.
He should miss four months and will be cleared to start running soon. He’s not going to have much fantasy value this season, but may be someone who could help a team around the start of the fantasy playoffs.

Josh Boone will play with the Iowa Energy of the D-League.
Boone had played in China after leaving the NBA, but it appears he would like to return to the league. He hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2009-10 season.

Josh Boone signed with San Miguel of the Philippines.
At 29 years old, Boone’s NBA days are likely behind him. The UConn alum hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2009-10 season, so this news won’t exactly send ripples across the fantasy basketball landscape.

Josh Boone is expected to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery this week, a procedure that could sideline him for six-to-eight weeks.
Boone’s rookie season got off to a late start because of a shoulder injury, and now he will miss valuable development time this summer because of his knee. The operation will prohibit him from playing on the Nets’ summer team. The injury, discovered in last week’s end-of-season physical, is not believed to be serious, but could hurt Boone’s chances of using this summer to establish himself for a more prominent role on the team next season.

Josh Boone, says he is at 90 to 95 percent following a right-knee arthroscope and subsequent sprain.
“I’m feeling a lot better than I was two months ago,” Boone said. “It was a little tough, because while I was rehabbing I actually sprained my MCL and it was kind of nagging me. It has not completely gone away, but my knee is probably about 90 to 95 percent right now.” It sounds like he’ll be ready for the season and if healthy, could be a nice sleeper pick as Nenad Krstic continues to make his way back from major knee surgery.

Josh Boone, playing through last year’s knee surgery, had 13 points, 11 boards and two blocks in Friday’s win.
Nenad Krstic didn’t play in this one, but Jamaal Magloire and Jason Collins did. If Krstic struggles to return from knee surgery and Boone is healthy, Boone will probably be worth a pickup at some point this season.
  • Point Guard #18
The New Jersey Nets exercised the third-year options on the contracts of guard Marcus Williams and forward Josh Boone on Monday, keeping the players through the 2008-09 season.
“Both Marcus and Josh have consistently improved since joining our team,” Nets president Rod Thorn said. Both players will get some run this season, but may not offer fantasy value. Williams is currently out with a broken foot, and is expected back in about four weeks.

Josh Boone had seven points, 14 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in Tuesday’s loss to the Clippers.
Sean Williams, who didn’t even play tonight, has become an afterthought, while Boone had eight rebounds in his last game. We fell for Lawrence Frank’s trick the first time around with Williams, and aren’t ready to bite on Boone yet. Just keep your eye on him. Malik Allen added 14 points and four boards as the starting power forward.

Josh Boone had 18 points and 12 rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting as the Nets lost at home to the Knicks on Wednesday.
Boone is still inconsistent, but might have won the starting center job for the rest of the season. He has been playing well enough to start for many fantasy teams. Sean Williams had 16 points, five rebounds and a block tonight, but has been too inconsistent to use in most leagues.
