How about that for ironic? Hudson scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with one assist in 12 minutes, and it will be interesting to see if he can unseat Josh Selby as the backup PG going into the playoffs. A one-game playoff between the two on Thursday if the Grizzlies are out of it sounds like the best way to settle it if you ask us.

Selby was called up on Saturday but didn’t arrive in time to play vs. the Bucks. He’s not worthy of fantasy consideration, and was only called up to provide emergency depth while Mike Conley rehabs his ankle injury.

The D-League regular season ended, so Selby is back up with the club. He averaged 25.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists during his tenure in the D-League and will function as depth moving forward.

It’s Selby’s second stint in the minors. He spent four games with the Bighorns back in February, averaging 21.5 points per game.

Selby has impressive athleticism but is unlikely to have much, if any fantasy value this season.

It’s the third time Selby has been sent to the Reno Bighorns this season. It confirms that Mike Conley’s ankle injury is no longer a concern.

The move was made in order for Memphis to have more quickness in the backcourt, but O.J. Mayo wound up playing behind Mike Conley as the reserve point guard.

Selby has lost the backup point guard job to Jeremy Pargo. At age 20, he could use the minutes he’ll get in Reno.

“I have no comment about it,” Selby said. “It is what it is.” He’ll likely just pay a fine and perhaps get probation and/or community service, but even if the league punishes him it won’t have fantasy ramifications.

Selby, the No. 49 overall pick in 2011, will now be Mike Conley’s primary backup. The Grizzlies praised Selby’s ability to contribute, but he is not worthy of fantasy consideration unless Conley suffers an injury.
