The Rockets have waived Kenny Wooten, Jerian Grant and Trevelin Queen.
This brings Houston’s roster down to 17. Wooten blocked 3.6 shots per game in the G League last season so fantasy managers will be hoping he gets another shot somewhere else.

  • Power Forward #7
The Rockets have reportedly claimed Kenny Wooten off waivers.
Wooten had a nice year in the G League with the Westchester Knicks, blocking 3.6 shots with 7.6 points and 6.1 boards per game. Houston’s frontcourt is thin even after the Christian Wood signing, but Wooten has to make the team before garnering fantasy managers’ attention.

  • NBA Small Forward #2
The Knicks announced Thursday that they have waived Wayne Ellington and Kenny Wooten.
In total four players (Ellington, Wooten, Taj Gibson and Elfrid Payton) were waived, and the Knicks declined the player options of two others (Bobby Portis and Theo Pinson). Ellington has the potential to fill a 3-and-D role but he didn’t see much playing time while with the Knicks. His perimeter shooting ability could be worth a look for teams looking for a possible contributor at a low salary. As for Wooten, the athletic forward out of Oregon spent the majority of his time with the Knicks’ G-League affiliate in Westchester.

Kenny Wooten will miss at least six weeks of action after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb.
Wooten wasn’t a factor in fantasy before this news, so he was likely already on your league’s waiver wire. Which is where he should stay regardless of the league.
  • Power Forward #7
Kenny Wooten is set to undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb on Monday.
He signed a two-way deal with the Knicks back in January, but he never made it to the court and is likely done for the year. Leave him on the wire.
  • Power Forward #7
The two-way contract Kenny Wooten signed with New York is for two years.
Wooten’s deal will run through the end of this season and into 2020-21. He’s one of only six players in the league with such a contract. Wooten has yet to play for the Knicks, and should certainly be left on waivers.
  • Power Forward #7
The Knicks have signed Kenny Wooten to a two-way contract.
Wooten has been sending away 3.3 shots per game with the Knicks G League affiliate and was generating some interest from opposing teams, so the Knicks decided to lock him up on a two-way deal. He’ll continue to spend most of his time with New York’s G League affiliate, though.
  • Power Forward #7
The Knicks have waived VJ King, Lamar Peters and Kenny Wooten.
No surprise here, as all three were never expected to make the final roster. Wooten had ankle sprain and missed all four preseason games. All three will play for the Knicks G League team in Westchester.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #18
Amir Hinton has agreed to a training camp deal with the Knicks.
In addition to Hinton, the Knicks have agreed to training camp deals with Lamar Peters, VJ King and Kenny Wooten. Each of the contracts includes an Exhibit 10 provision, which would pay the player a bonus of $50,000 if they remain with the team’s G-League affiliate in Westchester for at least 60 days. Hinton was with the Knicks during the Las Vegas Summer League, appearing in four games and averaging 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per. The Knicks now have a full roster of 20 players for training camp.
