West Virginia center Kevin Pittsnogle has declared for the NBA draft, but hasn’t hired an agent.
Pittsnogle, a college junior, will have until June 21 to pull out if he doesn’t think he’s going to go high enough. The 6-11, 250 pound center is more of a shooter than a banger who’s known more as a three-point threat than a rebounder. He averaged 11.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in college, while shooting 42% from downtown and making 162 three pointers in his career.
  • The Celtics have signed West Virginia center Kevin Pittsnogle.
We have seen his name floating around the league since draft day and it sounds like he has signed a two-year deal with the Celtics. With Kendrick Perkins and Theo Ratliff as the only competent centers on the team, Pittsnogle has a shot at making the roster. But it could also be a move to acquire some insurance in case Ratliff is traded.
  • The Celtics waived big man Kevin Pittsnogle.
It will be interesting to see if Michael Olowokandi lands back in Boston as the third center. We’ve heard they have no interest in keeping him, but you never know.
