Cavs backup PG Lester Hudson scored a career-high 23 points on 6-of-14 shooting (0-for-4 from deep, 11-of-13 from the line) with two rebounds, seven assists, and three steals in the Cavs’ win over the Raptors on Friday.
This was almost a D-League game with all the absences and general lack of talent on both sides of the court, but Hudson should be owned in all formats for the possibility he has nights like this. Donald Sloan scored five points on 2-of-8 shooting with seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 34 minutes, and it’s possible both guys get heavy run going forward. Anthony Parker’s return could muddy the waters, but we’re about to hit the wacky portion of the program and he’s a bit of a question mark, too. As for Sloan and Parker, they should be owned in most formats due to the Cavs’ awesome playoff schedule (AP’s health notwithstanding)

The Cavs did not re-sign Lester Hudson after his second 10-day contract expired Thursday.
In his last 11 games with the Cavs, Hudson averaged 14.5 points and posted a streak of three straight games with 23 points or more. But the journeyman ended up shooting just 39.1 percent from the field and fell behind Manny Harris on the depth chart. The Cavs probably didn’t offer him a guaranteed contract for next season, so he’s going to try to latch on elsewhere.

Lester Hudson will be signed by the Grizzlies on Friday according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
It’s good to see Hudson make his NBA dreams come true, but it would be surprising to see him on the court much, if at all for the Grizzlies come playoff time.

Kyrie Irving (shoulder) is unlikely to play in all five of Cleveland’s remaining games.
“I probably won’t play all five games,” Irving said. “It’s about being smart right now.” Irving played just 20 minutes on Wednesday, so owners are going to have to roll with him at their own risk. He’ll likely be on a minutes cap when he does play, and it’s tough for owners to stomach a DNP at this juncture of the season.

Lester Hudson hit 5-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers on his way to 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in Tuesday’s loss.
Hudson looked good tonight and got some run with the score being so lopsided. He might be worth a flier at some point in the next three weeks, but isn’t worth owning at this point. The Cavaliers lost 115-90 tonight, and have lost their last two home games by a total of 72 points.

Lester Hudson played just 19 minutes off the bench on Friday, scoring seven points on 2-of-6 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds, one assist, two steals, and five turnovers.
Hudson has played pretty loose during his hot streak and it finally caught up to him tonight. We don’t want to write him off based on one bad game, but success can be a fleeting thing for players whose pedigree is less-than-stellar. Weigh your options carefully.

Lester Hudson scored 19 points and hit some big shots in Wednesday’s overtime loss to the Pacers, but he did some fantasy damage along the way.
He was just 1-of-9 from downtown and 8-of-20 overall, and also committed six turnovers on the night. He added six rebounds and just two assists, despite playing heavy minutes again (34). He’s now scored between 19 and 26 points in four straight games, and despite tonight’s shortcomings, should still be owned in almost all leagues until further notice.

Lester Hudson made his Grizzlies debut on Monday against his former Cavs squad.
How about that for ironic? Hudson scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with one assist in 12 minutes, and it will be interesting to see if he can unseat Josh Selby as the backup PG going into the playoffs. A one-game playoff between the two on Thursday if the Grizzlies are out of it sounds like the best way to settle it if you ask us.

The Cavaliers plan to sign G Lester Hudson either to another 10-day contract, or for the rest of the season.
The kid blew up for 26 points and six 3-pointers on Sunday after going for 23 points on Friday. He’s unproven and could fail miserably next week, but with five games, he looks worth a roll of the dice if you have room for him.

No decision has been made on whether to sign guard Lester Hudson to a second 10-day contract.
He’s been playing well and had a career-high 23 points on Friday. The Cavs will have a decision to make soon, as his current contract expires on Sunday night. Our guess is that that will sign him to a second 10-day deal, but we’re also surprised it hasn’t happened yet.
