The Sonics met with representatives of ’05 second-round pick Mickael Gelabale and the sides are growing closer to an agreement.
Gelabale is under contract with Real Madrid for next season and also is a member of the French National team. The two sides will meet again later this month.

Mickael Gelabale has signed with Cedevita Zagreb in Croatia.
Gelabale made his last NBA appearance in 2009 when he was waived by the Lakers. The 2005 second-round pick played two seasons in the league, both with the Sonics.

The Timberwolves have until July 22 to decide whether or not to exercise the contract option on Mickael Gelabale.
Gelabale was signed by the Wolves after the team was ravaged by injuries this season, but he flashed the ability to contribute and make some solid plays during his time with the team. He could easily be brought back, but if he isn’t, it’s possible he’ll decide to return to Europe where he had been playing before joining Minnesota last season.

The Timberwolves are reportedly close to signing Mickael Gelabale.
Gelabale was waived by the Lakers in 2009, but he hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2007-08 season with the Sonics. “We are working on some things,” said GM David Kahn when asked about Gelabale. Lazar Hayward’s 10-day contract expires on Thursday.

Mickael Gelabale scored a season-high 15 points to go with seven boards, one assist, one steal and two turnovers in 26 minutes against the Wizards on Friday.
He was signed to a 10-day contract and the Wolves have played him 22.0 minutes per game in his four games. Gelabale was out of the league since 2008 and his contract will expire after this weekend. He’s not worth picking up as anything besides a plug-and-play option in very deep leagues.

Making his third start of the season for the Wolves, Mickael Gelabale scored 14 points with two 3-pointers, three rebounds and one assist in 36 minutes.
The D-League callup has lucked into a major role for the short-handed Wolves, but he’s yet to play with any consistency. His value will also evaporate when Andrei Kirilenko (quad) returns, likely after the All-Star break, so don’t give him too much thought.
  • UTA Small Forward #47
Andrei Kirilenko (quad) is questionable to play on Wednesday.
He might wind up being a game-time call considering he’s already being slapped with the questionable tag. It wouldn’t surprise us to see AK-47 sit for at least one game, and if he were to do that, it would likely push Derrick Williams, Dante Cunningham and Mickael Gelabele into more minutes.
  • UTA Small Forward #47
Andrei Kirilenko (quad) has been ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the Jazz.
Rick Adelman previously said that AK-47 could be out through the All-Star break, and now that looks to be exactly what will happen. The Wolves are ridiculously banged up, and without Kirilenko, Derrick Williams and Mickael Gelabale are expected to start up front.
  • Forward #15
Timberwolves sign G/F Mickael Gelabale to a 10-day contract.
Gelabale has not played in the NBA since the 2007-08 season with the Sonics. Lazar Hayward’s 10-day contract expires on Friday.
  • NOP Small Forward #15
The Timberwolves will not re-sign Lazar Hayward.
Hayward’s 10-day deal expires on Friday, and the team inked Mickael Gelabale on Thursday night. It’s a very bad sign for Hayward’s long-term outlook that he can’t stick on the league’s most depleted roster.
