MILWAUKEE (AP) Justin Zanik has been named the assistant general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks after holding the same position with the Utah Jazz the last three seasons.

The Bucks announced Thursday that Zanik would take part in all areas of day-to-day basketball operations management. At Utah, Zanik’s duties included contract negotiations, salary cap management and international scouting.

In Milwaukee, Zanik fills a position left vacant when predecessor David Morway’s contract was not renewed last offseason. Zanik will answer to general manager John Hammond, a longtime executive in the league who has one year remaining on his contract.

The 41-year-old Zanik also has experience in the NBA as an agent. He was vice president of basketball operations for Priority Sports & Entertainment from 1998-2002.
