Los Angeles Lakers center Timofey Mozgov is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier, but that didn’t stop current members of the reigning NBA champions from mobbing the Russian big man on Saturday night during a ring ceremony at Quicken Loans Arena.
Mozgov, 30, signed a 4-year, $64 million deal with the Lakers this offseason. He spent the two seasons prior with LeBron James and the Cavaliers, helping them bring the first championship to the city of Cleveland since 1964.
Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue was the man to give the ring to Mozgov, who was treated to a warm welcome from the Ohio crowd.
The Golden State Warriors famously blew a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA Finals to Cleveland for the historic title.
