The Chicago Bulls have been a headline factory lately, churning out stories after dramatics between Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, Rajon Rondo, and some of the younger players had issues that were aired out to the media and through sniping social media comments.
The team recently called a meeting to discuss what ails them, with some of the younger players saying they wanted to see Wade on the practice court more often.
Taj Gibson acknowledged the request within the team, and coach Fred Hoiberg said Wade has obliged.
Via ESPN:
“Young guys just want a little bit more from him,” Gibson said, noting that Wade practiced Saturday. “And he brung it today. He pushed the young guys. And that’s a sign that that meeting did a little something.”

“As far as practice today, Wade has been practicing,” Hoiberg said Saturday. “He’s been practicing the last couple weeks pretty much every day that we’ve had off. He’s been a good influence, I think, for the young guys.”
We’ll see where the season goes for Chicago from here. The Bulls are 23-25, placing them 7th in the Eastern Conference. Rondo has yet to be traded, and the most logical series of events would be Chicago buying him out after the deadline if they can’t find a suitor for him by Feb. 23.
Then again, Rondo has been playing better lately and although unlikely, perhaps we see this core stick around for the expected playoff run.
