Jazz “undecided” about C.J. Miles’ option
The Jazz have not made a decision about picking up small forward C.J. Miles’ 2011-12 team option worth $3.7 million.
While Miles has often expressed interest in remaining with Utah — going so far as to state his desire to sign a long-term extension — the Jazz are expected to wait as long as possible before dealing with his contract, due to a variety of factors.
Miles has spent his entire career with the Jazz. He averaged 12.8 points and 3.3 rebounds last season, but shot only 40.7% from the field and 32.2% from beyond the three-point line. Miles is a solid player, but with a lockout coming up and the new CBA looming as the great unknown, it makes sense that the Jazz would wait before committing any more money to Miles than they already have.
