Like the Cavs need another good player

As if the Cavaliers were not stacked enough, they are about to get deeper and more athletic along the front line.

Leon Powe is due back Tuesday night for Cleveland against New Orleans, according to the Cavaliers guru that is Brian Windhorst. He will be playing in his first game for the Cavaliers this season, after recovering from a severe ACL tear last May.

Powe’s return will not mean big minutes or huge rotation changes (beyond the huge rotation changes already trying to fit Antawn Jamison into the lineup). But Powe, out of Cal (back when the Pac 10 played watchable basketball) is athletic and tough. He made key contributions off the bench to the Celtics title team in 2008. He can play gritty, ugly playoff ball and play it well.

Which makes Cleveland a little bit tougher. And the rest of the league shudders a little at that thought.
