Portland Trail Blazers big man Meyers Leonard is known more for his shooting -- he was a 50/40/90 guy two seasons ago -- but maybe that will change after Friday night.
Leonard is a competent offensive pick-and-roll player, but isn’t assertive on dives down the lane. This season he has been battling a comeback from a shoulder injury, where he’s shown a lack of strength so far.
That said, this was a powerful dunk on Leonard’s part. It was also pretty poor defense by the Sacramento Kings, who didn’t think to pop to the arc with the 3-point shooting center or to stay with him down the lane. Weird.
