The Pelicans have arguably the game’s best stretch four in Ryan Anderson on the roster, but you can never have enough shooting. Never.

Enter Anthony Morrow.

The guy with the career 42.4 percent three point shooting percentage (but that has been lower the past couple seasons) has agreed to be a gun slinger off the bench for the Pelicans, tweets Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.

This deal is for the veteran minimum, and at that price it’s a nice pickup.

Morrow will come off the bench behind Eric Gordon or Tyreke Evans (depending upon how coach Monty Williams sets the rotations) and will just be asked to shoot on offense. Space the floor. Score the rock. He’s struggled by his standards the last two seasons shooting 37.1 percent from three, but expect that number to go up with him healthy and in a good role.

He’s not going to defend all that well, which is what limits his minutes. But he provides points. And that’s why at this price he’s a good value.
