The Warriors have set up a nice training-camp battle for a shooting wing.
Chris Babb, Ian Clark and Jarell Eddie each have unguaranteed salaries. Likely, one and only one, makes the regular-season roster.
Golden State won’t pick an athletic power forward project without competition, either.
Incumbent James McAdoo will have to hold off Tony Mitchell.
Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports:
Forward Tony Mitchell, 37th pick to DET in 2013, has agreed to a free-agent deal with the Golden State Warriors, league sources tell Yahoo.

I’d guess Mitchell’s deal is unguaranteed. McAdoo has a $100,000 guarantee, which should give him an edge.
Mitchell looked like a lottery pick his freshman year at North Texas. He returned to the team then looked barely draftable, and he hasn’t really changed that perceptions since.
The Warriors will probably waive Mitchell and assign his D-League rights to their affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors. He remains an exceptional athlete with good size. Perhaps, Golden State can aid his development and make him a viable NBA player.
I just don’t see him as one right now, which is good news for McAdoo.
