The Utah Jazz brought in veteran point guard Jamaal Tinsley to provide a little stability with rookie Trey Burke out with an injured finger. At least that was the plan.
Tinsley didn’t provide much of anything — 1.1 points a game on 20 percent shooting, plus 2.9 assists per game. He started five of the Jazz’s eight games, all losses.
Monday night coach Tyron Corbin moved him to the bench, Tuesday they let him go reports Aaron Falk of the Salt Lake Tribune.
The Jazz have waived PG Jamaal Tinsley.

Announcement: Pro Basketball Talk’s partner FanDuel is hosting a one-day $15,000 Fantasy Basketball league for Tuesday night’s games. It’s just $10 to join and first prize is $2,000. Starts at 7:30pm ET. Here’s the link.
So, if he is out, who is in? Marc Stein of ESPN has heard rumblings.
First name I'm hearing in connection with Utah's roster opening: Diante Garrett out of the D-League who played with Phoenix last season

Word is Garrett, currently with Iowa Energy in advance of D-League season starting in 10 days, will audition for Jazz & sign if it goes well

In Utah is all just a placeholder until Burke gets healthy, then their star rookie will get the keys to the Jazz offense. For better or worse... well, not sure it can be much worse.
As for Tinsley, not sure he is going to land another job in the league.
