Johnson averaged 19.7 points in a featured offensive role last year, making 45.1 percent of his FGs and 42.7 percent of his 3-pointers. He has a solid build but probably needs to refine his ball-handling to thrive at the NBA level.

The two rookies will get some time in the D-League before rejoining the Pacers after those two games.

Despite being praised by coach Frank Vogel for his development thus far, Johnson has played just three minutes this season. He’ll head to the D-League to get some consistent minutes and won’t impact the fantasy landscape at all this season.

Green played just six minutes in the first half Monday before being benched for the entire second half. Wells reports rookie Orlando Johnson will assume Green’s minutes, which he did in the second half of Monday’s win over Memphis. Green has been a total bust this season, shooting just 35 percent from the field and 29 percent from beyond the arc. It’s nice to see Johnson get a shot at some minutes, but whatever impact he has now will be severely limited once Danny Granger returns in February.

Lance Stephenson and Orlando Johnson should pick up some extra minutes. Green hasn’t been able to do much and isn’t living up to the contract he signed in the offseason.

It’s nice to hear the coach praising his rookies, but it’s not going to result in any fantasy fallout.

He’ll head back to the end of the bench.

Rookie Orlando Johnson is taking his place on a short-term basis, and the demotion is designed to spark Green to play better. “I’ve been settling for a lot of 3’s,” Green said. “I have to figure out a way to get my offense through the (team’s) offense.”

This has become a regular routine for both players, and each will play for the Mad Ants on Thursday.
