Minnesota is hiring Brooklyn’s player development coach Pablo Prigioni as an assistant coach.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Prigioni has a solid relationship with new Minnesota President Gersson Rosas dating back to their days in Houston with the Rockets. Prigioni will focus on the offensive end of the floor under coach Ryan Saunders.
  • NYK Point Guard
Unrestricted free agent Mike Bibby is “unlikely” to return to the Knicks, a source tells ESPN New York.
The Knicks don’t need to retain Bibby after bringing in Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd and Pablo Prigioni in the offseason, and Bibby’s best days are well behind him. He’s still working out, though, and he’ll likely find work at the end of a contender’s bench.

The Knicks are reportedly interested in Spanish League PG Pablo Prigioni, who is 35 years old.
Prigioni would likely have to accept a portion of New York’s mini-mid-level exception, and could make more by remaining overseas, so this isn’t a sure thing. Even if he does sign with the Knicks, he’ll have a backup facilitator role and doesn’t warrant fantasy attention.

Pablo Prigioni (kidney stones) returned to action for Argentina on Saturday, going scoreless with four assists in 12 minutes.
In three Olympic games, Prigioni has more assists (18) than points (16), which supports his well-known reputation as a pass-first PG who rarely looks for his own shot.

Knicks sign PG Pablo Prigioni on Wednesday.
Prigioni is said to be a “pass-first” point guard and is 35 years old. He last played in the Spanish league and will likely replace Mike Bibby for the Knicks.

Argentina’s Pablo Prigioni missed Thursday’s game against Tunisia with renal colic.
Renal colic is a severe type of abdominal pain, and Prigioni is thought to be dealing with kidney stones. While it sounds extremely painful, we’re not worried about his status heading into training camp.

The Knicks officially signed PG Pablo Prigioni on Tuesday.
Prigioni finally received FIBA clearance, allowing the 35-year-old to ink his first NBA contract. He is New York’s third-string PG behind Raymond Felton and Jason Kidd, and we don’t expect him to have fantasy value -- beyond the limited role, he doesn’t score much and isn’t very athletic or quick.
  • NBA Point Guard #2
Raymond Felton finished Saturday’s OT victory with seven points, six rebounds and seven assists in just 22 minutes of action.
Tonight’s schedule featured two of those rarest delights -- overtime preseason games. Felton shot just 2-of-8 but looked sharp before being rested, while Jason Kidd played a whopping 34 minutes off the bench and Pablo Prigioni also played 29 minutes, often alongside Kidd.
  • DAL Head Coach #5
Jason Kidd (back) had an MRI exam, but the results were negative and he’s still day-to-day.
Kidd discussed the possibility of returning next week, but didn’t specify a timetable. We still don’t know the full extent of the injury because the Knicks are so tight-lipped with updates, but Kidd won’t play Friday and is not expected to play on Sunday, either. The earliest he’ll return is December 5 against the Bobcats, but December 6 against the Heat may be more likely.

Raymond Felton’s hand is swollen and in “a lot of pain.”
An MRI exam revealed a bone bruise for Felton, and with the Knicks not playing until Wednesday, the team is simply listing him as day-to-day for the time being. The injury “appears to be closer to his left thumb,” than to his hand, according to the New York Daily News. If Felton and Kidd (back) both can’t suit up, Pablo Prigioni would draw the start on Wednesday.
