The Timberwolves announced on Saturday that they have waived P.J. Dozier.
Signed to a one-year deal in July, Dozier only appeared in nine games for the Timberwolves before being waived. His departure will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #35
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Timberwolves will sign PJ Dozier to a one-year deal.
Dozier is back in the NBA after playing in Serbia last season. He suffered a torn ACL during the 2022-23 season as a member of the Kings, with Sacramento waiving him last July. Dozier played in 54 games in all competitions for Partizan, averaging 8.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.7 3-pointers in 19.6 minutes. He’ll provide additional depth on the wing with the Timberwolves but should not be relied on in most fantasy leagues.
  • MIA Guard #45
Davion Mitchell (left knee soreness) is out for Sunday’s game against the Nuggets.
With Mitchell joining Matthew Dellavedova (finger) on the sideline, the Kings will be down to one point guard for the final game of the regular season. Starter De’Aaron Fox will play, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect too much since the Kings are locked into the 3-seed in the West. P.J. Dozier and Keon Ellis should play plenty Sunday afternoon.

  • NBA Power Forward #30
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings plan to waive KZ Okpala.
Okpala, who has been dealing with bilateral knee soreness, plans to undergo season-ending knee surgery. Since he won’t be available to play, the Kings are freeing up that roster spot, which will go to PJ Dozier. Dozier, who’s currently on a 10-day contract, will be signed for the remainder of the season. This roster change will not impact fantasy basketball, as neither player has been in the rotation.

  • FA Point Guard #35
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings have signed P.J. Dozier to a second 10-day contract.
Dozier appeared in three of the five games he was eligible for during his first 10-day contract. While he played sparingly, the veteran wing apparently made a good enough impression that he’s receiving another contract. This will not impact fantasy basketball.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings have signed P.J. Dozier to a 10-day contract.
Dozier, who suffered a torn ACL with the Nuggets in November 2021, has not appeared in an NBA game since then. Since then, he’s been traded twice and camped with the Timberwolves before being waived on October 15. The Kings freed up a roster spot on Saturday by waiving Chima Moneke, aiming to evaluate potential additions. Dozier won’t impact fantasy basketball, but he’s got a shot to restart his NBA career.

  • FA Point Guard #35
The Timberwolves waived P.J. Dozier (left knee) on Saturday.
Dozier signed with the Wolves in September after being waived in December by the Magic. He had just started 5-on-5 work a few weeks ago, so there was a chance he wasn’t ready for opening night. Factor in that Minnesota probably wouldn’t have had a spot for him in the rotation, and it makes sense that they decided to move on.

P.J. Dozier (left ACL surgery) has resumed playing 5-on-5, according to Wolves president Tim Connelly.
Connelly said Dozier is “right there” in his rehab from an ACL tear he suffered on Nov. 23. He gives the Wolves extra wing depth, and should earn minutes as a 3-and-D guy, but there’s no reason to expect him to have fantasy value on a team with playoff aspirations.

  • FA Point Guard #35
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted on Saturday that P.J. Dozier will sign a deal with the Timberwolves.
Dozier is coming off an ACL injury that he suffered in December. He played for new Wolves’ president Tim Connelly in Denver. He’ll add some depth to Minnesota, but he won’t be relevant in any fantasy formats outside of very deep leagues. The deal is only an Exhibit 10, so there’s a decent chance that Dozier doesn’t make the final roster.

Free agent guard P.J. Dozier, who suffered a torn left ACL for Denver in November, has been cleared to resume full basketball activities and will be available for the start of the preseason and training camp, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Dozier had been a key rotation player for the Nuggets over the last two seasons and will enter free agency fully healthy. After the injury, the Magic acquired Dozier and Bol Bol from the Nuggets in exchange for a 2023 second-round pick, so now he’ll try and find a new home given he’s fully healthy and cleared for all activities. He’s not the most fantasy-friendly guy so this shouldn’t change your draft board much, but just keep an eye on where he ends up just in case.
