The Kings have selected shooting guard Quincy Douby with the 19th pick in the draft.
He’s one of the best shooters in the draft and can fill it up in a hurry, although there are concerns about his size. He would help make up for the possible loss of Bonzi Wells at some point, although he’s going to have a tough time seeing major minutes next year. He’ll likely be a designated three-point shooter for the Kings next year.
  • NYK Shooting Guard
The Sacremento Kings have signed their first-round draft pick, Quincy Douby to a two-year deal.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Douby, the 19th overall selection in the 2006 NBA Draft, averaged 25.4 points a game for Rutgers last season.

Quincy Douby broke his wrist in the first quarter of a game in China.
Douby signed a deal in China at the beginning of July. The broken wrist will end his season, and he will fly back to the United States to receive surgery and begin rehab on the injury. He remains on the outside looking in at an NBA return.
  • Power Forward #43
The Knicks worked out Shawne Williams on Monday and will work out Quincy Douby on Tuesday.
The team is trying to get younger and cheaper on the bench, so the club will look to dip into the clearance aisle in their search for free agents. Williams has a history with the team and could be brought back after previous success.

The Sixers are interested in signing Quincy Douby.
It’s a little surprising to hear that the Sixers are entertaining the idea of picking up a guy that hasn’t been in the NBA since 2009. Douby is more of a shooter and his defensive presence hasn’t really been there. He is expected to work out for the team later this month.
  • NYK Shooting Guard
Quincy Douby has signed with the Westchester Knicks of the D-League.
Despite the signing, the 32-year-old has been out of the NBA for years and can be ignored by fantasy owners.
  • Small Forward #32
The Kings picked up their team options on forward Francisco Garcia and shooting guard Quincy Douby on Friday.
Garcia may flourish under new coach Reggie Theus, who envisions him bringing the ball up the court occasionally, while Douby should become a decent outside option for the Kings. They also made qualifying offers to guard Ronnie Price and forward Justin Williams, who both made the club as undrafted free agents. They are scheduled to be restricted free agents, and the Kings will have the right to match any contract offer they receive this summer. Garcia is probably worth a late-round flyer in fantasy leagues, while Douby may be worth a free agent pickup at some point next season.
  • NYK Shooting Guard
The Kings picked up their team option on shooting guard Quincy Douby on Friday.
Douby, a first-round pick from Rutgers last season, scored 2.8 points per game while playing sparingly as a rookie. He is slated to make $1.33 million next season and $1.43 million in 2008-09. He could have fantasy value at some point, but isn’t worthy of a draft pick in October.
  • NYK Point Guard
Mike Bibby will have surgery on his injured left thumb to repair torn ligaments.
This will cause him to miss at least 10 weeks and is terrible news for those of you who have already drafted him. Quincy Douby and John Salmons will split point guard duties, with Douby appearing to be the early favorite to win the job. Neither player is a true point guard, so this news is just as devastating to the Kings as it is to Bibby owners. Both Douby and Salmons are worth picking up in most leagues.
  • NYK Point Guard
The Kings announced Saturday that point guard Mike Bibby underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb. The procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Szabo at the UC Davis Medical Center.
Bibby is expected to miss 10-12 weeks and will begin rehabilitation immediately. 12 weeks is basically half a season, so fantasy owners may need to think about cutting Bibby to get some help between now and February. Obviously, he can be held in extremely deep leagues, but if there are solid options on your wire and you don’t have an injured reserve in your league, you have to think about cutting bait. John Salmons and Quincy Douby now have some fantasy value.
