Former NBA guard Taurean Green has signed with Sigma Barcellona in Spain.
Green bounced around the NBA and D-League for a few seasons to begin his career, but has since settled into the role of an overseas journeyman, playing in Greece, Turkey and Spain. His NBA career is assuredly over.

The Blazers selected Florida point guard Taurean Green with the 52nd pick in the draft.
Chalk up another steal for the Blazers, who now have the league’s largest stable of talented young point guards. The Blazers will have some serious trading power in the next couple years if these guys develop, and Green was thought to have some first-round potential. He’ll join the long list of Portland PGs that now includes Jarrett Jack, Peterri Koponen, Sergio Rodriguez and Steve Francis.

Blazers’ coach Nate McMillan say he thinks rookie Taurean Green can win three or four games for the Blazers this season, while also saying that Sergio Rodriguez is currently out of the rotation.
“You put him on the floor at the end of the game with Brandon (Roy) because he can shoot the three,” McMillan said of the rookie. “Right now, I would say he is the best three-point shooter among the guards...I like him.’' As for Rodriguez, it sounds like Jarrett Jack and Steve Blake are going to get most of the point guard minutes. “He’s out. Right now, he is,” McMillan said of Rodriguez. “He’s going to have to play his way in, and that’s going to be hard to do unless Blake or Jack just dog it, which I don’t think will happen.’' While there is a logjam in the backcourt in Portland, Jack and Blake will both be worth owning this season, while Green now qualifies as a deep sleeper.

According to a report on KGW.com, the Trail Blazers signed Greg Oden, who was the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, to a two-year deal on Monday.
Oden’s contract will be for two seasons, with a team option for the third and fourth year, according to the league’s collective bargaining agreement. Oden will make $3.8 million during his rookie campaign and $4.1 in his second year with Portland, which also signed second-round picks forward Josh McRoberts and guard Taurean Green.

Point guard Taurean Green has moved past Sergio Rodriguez on the Blazers’ depth chart, according to coach Nate McMillan. Green is expected to play alongside Jarrett Jack with the second-unit.
No need to rush out and grab Green, since the Trailblazers have all the guards they can squeeze into a rotation. This move was the direct result of the Blazers’ epic collapse in the second half of Friday’s game against the 76ers.
  • PHI Point Guard #14
After Friday’s crushing defeat in Philadelphia, Blazers’ coach Nate McMillan decided to demote Sergio Rodriguez in favor of Taurean Green, who McMillan feels is better suited to handle pressure-filled situations.
Rodriguez was little more than a faint blip on most people’s fantasy radars, and now he is straight off the map.

Blazers assigned rookie guard Taurean Green to the Idaho of the D-League.
is averaging 2.3 points, 1.3 assists and 6.0 minutes in four games for the Blazers. “This is a great opportunity for Taurean to get some more playing time and in-game experience at a professional level,” GM Kevin Pritchard said. “We’re grateful to have a partnership with Idaho and the D-League to help us develop our young players.”
  • PHI Point Guard #14
Sergio Rodriguez is again the Blazers’ second-team point guard, after coach Nate McMillan briefly replaced him with Taurean Green.
McMillan said he was simply trying to light a fire under Rodriguez, but whether he is leading the second-team or not, Rodriguez shouldn’t have any fantasy value this season.

The Trailblazers are on the verge of a deal that will send Taurean Green to the Nuggets in exchange for Von Wafer.
The Blazers are overloaded with small guards, so this move--which is expected to be approved by the league very soon--kind of makes sense. Neither guy will have fantasy value.

The Portland Trailblazers acquired guard Von Wafer from the Nuggets on Thursday, sending rookie guard Taurean Green to Denver.
Wafer averaged 4.3 minutes this year for the Nuggets, and will continue to play sparingly in Portland. Green is the insurance point guard the Nuggets were lacking. He’s no Ron Artest, however, and shouldn’t have any fantasy impact this season.
