The Miami Herald says the Nuggets might have some interest in trading for Wesley Person.
Person could see a slight bump in value in Denver, but not enough to make him worth owning unless he somehow could knock Greg Buckner from the starting lineup.

Coach Stan Van Gundy was noncommittal about his starting small forward for tonight’s game.
“I have not decided yet,’' Van Gundy said. ‘In general, it’s something [I] think about all the time. At some point, it’ll sort out and they’ll make it obvious and say, ‘I belong here.’” The coach is obviously looking for one of Rasual Butler, Shandon Anderson, or Wesley Person to step up.

The Nuggets are interested in Wesley Person once the Heat buy him out of his contract.
''We’re working on it,’' Person’s agent, Herb Rudoy, said of a deal with the Nuggets. ''That’s all I can tell you. I think the chances are 50-50.’' Denver has been looking for a 3-point shooter since losing Voshon Lenard.

    Heat waive guard Wesley Person.
Another amnesty move, but Person is currently on the Nuggets.

Wesley Person returned from his knee injury on Wednesday and had 14 points in 28 minutes off the bench.
The three-man shooting guard rotation didn’t develop against the Nets, as Michael Dickerson didn’t play. Person did get more minutes than starter Gordan Giricek, who scored eight points.

Wesley Person played 28 minutes Sunday when the Celtics played small against the Heat.
Michael Doleac got just three minutes. Person finished with nine points, three rebounds and two assists and has no fantasy value. The Heat pulled out the two-point win, despite the Celtics getting 33 fast-break points. Every time the Heat took a jump shot, a Celtics player sprinted to the other end of the court.

Wesley Person started tonight for the Heat, but scored just three points on 1-of-7 shooting in 28 minutes.
Person finally cracked the starting lineup, replacing Rasual Butler. Shandon Anderson could be next in line for the job. Wait until someone starts playing well at the small forward position for the Heat before making a move.

Wesley Person filed a grievance with the players’ association for being placed on the injured list without being injured.
Even though it’s a common practice, players are usually willing to accomodate the team and not rock the boat when asked to go on the IL. Person, however, is unhappy in Miami, and thinks he can still help the right team. He could seek to be waived, but it’s more likely he will be activated once he has been on the list for five games (Friday was his second), and the issue will be null.

Wesley Person is expected to agree to a buyout of his contract today.
Being waived by March 1 will allow Person to participate in the playoffs for whichever team he joins. The Nuggets have the most interest.
  • DEN Small Forward
    Heat waived swingman Wesley Person.
Person could be on his way to Denver, but he shouldn’t have any fantasy value there, either.
