Xavier Rathan-Mayes came off the Grizzlies’ bench on Wednesday with nine points, seven assists, one rebound, one steal and one block in 28 minutes.
The Grizzlies are in the midst of a 15-game losing streak and they were missing four primary ball-handlers, so it’s no surprise to see Rathan-Mayes getting serious run off the bench. He’s averaging 6.0 assists over the past two games, which alone merits fantasy owners’ attention -- assists are in rare supply on the waiver wire, so feel free to grab him if you need dimes. Just don’t get too attached.

The Grizzlies will waive Xavier Rathan-Mayes to make room for Briante Weber.
XRM made five appearances for the Grizzlies, averaging 5.8 points, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 23.6 minutes. He’ll head back to the G-League.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes scored eight points with one assist, two steals and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes on Friday against the Jazz during a 95-78 loss.
He’s looked comfortable handling the rock, but he’s still not quite there as scorer. XRM scored his first four points in his first minute of action, but couldn’t get good looks after that. There’s a very good chance he’ll be looking at heavy minutes on Saturday.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes made a strong impression in his NBA debut on Monday vs. the Spurs, scoring eight points with five assists, two rebounds, two steals and three turnovers in 26 minutes.
He hit 4-of-10 shots and even closed the game for Memphis. It was evident that XRM has some talent and the Grizzlies will need him to play a good bit of minutes during his 10-day deal with Tyreke Evans (ribs) day-to-day and Andrew Harrison (wrist) and Mario Chalmers (hamstring) expected to miss at least a week.
  • Point Guard #22
The Grizzlies will sign G-League point guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes to a 10-day contract.
The Grizzlies have a ton of injuries to their backcourt right now with Tyreke Evans (ribs), Andrew Harrison (wrist), Mario Chalmers (hamstring) and Wayne Selden (knee) banged up. That means both Xavier Rathan-Mayes and Kobi Simmons could get some burn going forward. In 39 G-League games, Rathan-Mayes has made a strong impression with 16.6 points, 7.2 assists, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.6 triples.
