    Giants waived C Adam Koets.
Koets signed a three-year deal just before tearing his ACL last November. He ended up having a second operation in August after complications developed. Koets apparently wasn’t ready to resume practicing this week. The Giants opted to let him go rather than carrying him on the PUP list the rest of the way.

Giants agreed to terms with sixth-round T Adam Koets.
Koets played his college ball at Oregon State. The Giants like his athleticism, but he needs to work on his strength. He could eventually compete for the job at right tackle.

Giants C Adam Koets (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 3.
Koets is Shaun O’Hara’s backup. He didn’t make the trip to Tampa.

Giants C Shaun O’Hara’s foot injury is a Lis Franc sprain.
O’Hara says he hopes to only miss one game, but that’s unlikely, as Lis Franc sprains usually take 2-4 weeks to heal. Adam Koets is likely to start at center for most of November and isn’t a significant downgrade.

Giants C Adam Koets tore his left ACL in Sunday’s win over the Seahawks.
Koets’ 2010 season was off to a strong start with the first four starts of his career and a major role when he didn’t run with the first-team offense, but he’ll now enter 2011 free agency coming off reconstructive knee surgery. The Giants do have enough offensive line depth to withstand the loss.

Giants C Adam Koets left Sunday’s game in the fourth quarter with a left knee injury.
The team is initially calling it a sprain, and coach Tom Coughlin says he’s “hoping against hope” the Koets and David Diehl (hip) will be ready for Week 9 against Dallas. With New York reshuffling its line in Week 9, Koets played mostly as a “jumbo” tight end. Rich Seubert started at center.

Giants C Shaun O’Hara (foot) did not practice Friday and is expected to miss at least one week.
Return from Lis Franc sprains takes anywhere between 2-to-4 weeks. Adam Koets will fill in at center until O’Hara returns.

Giants C Shaun O’Hara insinuated Monday that the team misdiagnosed his ankle injury as “tendonosis,” whereas a second opinion revealed it to be “bursitis.”
The injury has cost O’Hara 2-of-4 games after he’d made 16 starts in each of the past three seasons. The running game hasn’t suffered with O’Hara out and Adam Koets in, as Ahmad Bradshaw is averaging 5.1 yards per carry.
