The timing of the transaction is curious after Robinson missed the previous two games with the injury, potentially signaling a setback in his recovery. Either way, Robinson will now miss the coming four games, at minimum, leaving Bijan Robinson in a clear workhorse role in the immediate future.
  • ATL Defensive End #27
Pearce’s status is related to a back injury that apparently flared up in Friday’s practice, per head coach Kevin Stefanski. Pearce was a full participant in practice, and teams said he will operate on a pitch count, so it seems highly unlikely he will be scratched on game day. In addition to Pearce, the Falcons also listed LB Yasir Abdullah (hamstring), WR Beaux Collins (hip), LB Divine Deablo (forearm), and OT Cameron Williams (ankle) as questionable for Week 9.
  • ATL Running Back #15
Robinson was briefly listed as questionable only for head coach Kevin Stefanski to rule him out shortly after the initial report. Robinson was limited in practice throughout the week, but the Falcons are opting to play it safe, likely hoping another week on the sidelines will lower the chances of re-injury. Rookie WR Zachariah Branch (hamstring) has also been ruled out for the game after picking up an injury in last week’s loss to the Buccaneers.
  • ATL Running Back #15
Robinson should be good to go for Week 9, though we won’t get official word on his status until tomorrow. He’ll reclaim the RB2 role in Atlanta once he gets cleared for action. Robinson will be a touchdown-or-bust RB4 if active.
  • ATL Running Back #15
Robinson has missed the past two weeks with the hamstring issue. A limited session today puts him on track to return to the lineup against the Bengals on Sunday. Robinson had at least seven carries in every game before going down in Week 6. He will be in the RB4 mix if he gets the green light for Week 9.
  • ATL Defensive End #27
Pearce is eligible to play in Week 9 against the Bengals and will likely join the team when it flies to Madrid for the international matchup. Pearce’s return should provide a nice spark to the 17th-ranked Falcons’ defense after the 2025 first-rounder racked up 10.5 sacks and 10 TFLs as a rookie while totaling 26 tackles.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #17
Branch suffered a hamstring injury in Week 8’s shutout loss to the Buccaneers and will miss next week’s game against the Bengals in Madrid. The rookie third-rounder has caught just 10 passes for 64 scoreless yards this season and has also served as the Falcons’ primary kick and punt returner.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #4
The bulk of Dotson’s production came on a single, 76-yard gain in the fourth quarter. Michael Penix lobbed him a ball on the boundary and two Bucs defensive backs collided, leaving Dotson uncovered with room to run. He bolted down the sideline but didn’t have the speed to take it to the house. That play alone accounted for over half of Penix’s passing output. Dotson has made the occasional splash play while running as Atlanta’s WR2, but his fantasy prospects are not that intriguing headed into Week 9. He will be in the WR5/6 range when the Falcons take on the Bengals next week.
  • ATL Tight End #8
Pitts’ 20 percent target share would have been good for at least TE2 fantasy numbers on a normal day. This game was anything but normal. Pitts and Jahan Dotson were the only Falcons pass-catchers with multiple receptions. Michael Penix only completed eight passes, so there simply wasn’t enough production to go around. He was intercepted four times and the Falcons were shut out. Pitts’ role as a PPR merchant should tick back up in Week 9 versus the Bengals. He will be back in the TE2 mix for that contest.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #5
Bucs defenders caught more passes on London’s six targets than he did. It was that bad of a day. Michael Penix was intercepted four times and only completed eight attempts. He managed just 125 yards, over half of which came on a 76-yard throw to Jahan Dotson that was the result of a coverage miscue. There’s simply not much to take away from a game where London’s quarterback plays this poorly. London had gone for at least 60 yards on four catches in every previous Penix start. We fully expect him to get back on track as a WR1 versus the Bengals next week.
