Oregon State redshirt junior RB B.J. Baylor carried 23 times for 80 yards and a touchdown in a 35-14 victory over Stanford this Saturday.
Baylor (5'11/208) was called upon to help OSU hammer the inside of Stanford’s defense so QB Chance Nolan can exploit their soft secondary through the air. The plan worked as Baylor received his heaviest workload of the season while the Beavers racked up 219 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in the lopsided contest. His rushing touchdown came on a rush off the right side where the line did a great job of opening a hole and allowing Baylor to build up his momentum so he could crash through the converging safety for a six-yard score. He has officially posted the first 1,000 yard season of his career and will try to find the end zone for the 13th time next Saturday against Arizona State.

Baylor gave Oregon State its final touchdown of the day on an eight yard touchdown run that proved to be enough to put the game out of reach for Utah. Oregon State now prepared for another Pac 12 matchup next weekend when it travels to Cal.

Oregon State redshirt junior RB B.J. Baylor rushed 18 times for 145 yards in Oregon State’s 31-24 loss to WSU.
The ground game was working to perfection for the Beavers, but it wasn’t quite enough to win a close game versus the Cougars. Baylor (5'11"/208) and fellow RB Deshuan Fenwick had chunk gains all day. Baylor’s 50 yard run was his team’s biggest play of the game, as he nearly housed a simple hand off to the left. Baylor glided through the hole and had open space in front of him. That play set up a Fenwick score. Baylor has been brilliant this year, and has crossed the century mark rushing in three straight games. He gets a bye next week to rest up.

It was a nice encore performance for Baylor, who rushed for 158 yards in the previous week, and now has 534 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns to his name this season. Oregon State will travel to Washington State in Week 7.

Oregon State redshirt junior RB B.J. Baylor ran 23 times for a game-high 158 yards in Saturday’s 45-27 upset win at USC.
Baylor (5'11/205) has averaged 6.3 or more yards per attempt in each of his past three outings. While he saw his three-game streak with two or more rushing touchdowns come to an end, the rushing yardage total was his second best day of the season. It was also just his third 100-yard rushing performance in his collegiate career. He’ll look to keep it going next Saturday when Washington visits Corvallis.

Oregon State redshirt junior RB B.J. Baylor ran for 171 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries in a lopsided victory over Hawaii on Saturday night.
Baylor (5'11/208) ran around and through the Hawaii defense, dominating them at nearly 10 yards per carry. The game never really felt close and a lot of that had to do with Baylor gashing the Rainbow Warriors defense for big gains all evening, including a long of 66 yards. The Beavers look to improve their record to 2-1 as they host Idaho next Saturday.

  • Running Back
Oregon State redshirt junior RB B.J. Baylor ran for two scores and 24 yards on nine carries in a 30-21 loss to Purdue on Saturday.
Baylor didn’t do much in terms of yardage, but was able to have a quality game -- outside of a loss -- with the two scores. He gave the Beavers a 7-0 lead with a nine-yard run in the first, and brought Oregon State to within two in the fourth with a two-yard score. Baylor (5'11/205) should get more opportunities in the OSU offense, but even with two touchdowns, not the most impressive effort. He should find more running room against Hawaii next Saturday.

Oregon State running backs B.J. Baylor, Deshaun Fenwick and Trey Lowe are all listed as possible starters for Saturday’s game at Purdue.
While Oregon State’s quarterback competition, won by Sam Noyer, was competitive, the running back battle was even more fierce. Redshirt junior Baylor (5'11/205) and redshirt sophomores Fenwick (6'2/230) and Lowe (5'9/191) all performed well enough in fall camp to merit inclusion on the top line of Oregon State’s depth chart. So, how will the reps be divided? That’s the big question, especially given how little the trio has done while in Corvallis. Baylor (381 rushing yards and five touchdowns in his OSU career) is the only back to have recorded any stats in an Oregon State uniform last season, as Lowe appeared in two games after transferring in from Washington and Fenwick is a grad transfer from South Carolina.
