Ravens HC Jesse Minter said WR Zay Flowers (quadricep contusion) will miss some practice.

Flowers apparently avoided significant injury but will reportedly miss a “couple days” with a quadricep contusion suffered in practice Saturday. Camp injuries are beginning to flood in but it appears as if Flowers will be okay following a couple of days off. Entering his fourth season, there is real optimism that Flowers will take another step forward under a new coaching staff, although a career 15.7 percent red zone target rate could keep him from becoming a true fantasy star. For now, treat Flowers as a solid fourth round selection in fantasy drafts that carries elite spike-week potential due to his downfield role.

Ravens WR Rashod Bateman said new OC Declan Doyle is lining him up all over the formation.

Bateman, 26, has never quite lived up to his first-round draft capital, lining up on the perimeter on 88.4 percent of his career receiving snaps. Allowing him to line up in the slot and as the Z-receiver could help him out, although true sixth-year breakouts are uncommon in the NFL. He can only be viewed as a late-round, boom-bust option.

Ravens signed LB Jamon Johnson, formerly of the Packers.

Johnson notched three solo tackles, one TFL and one forced incompletion last year. He will likely compete for a backup role in Baltimore.

Ravens RB Derrick Henry said he “would like to finish [his] playing career with [the] Ravens.”

In an appearance for the Up & Adams show, Henry said, “when I hang it up, Baltimore is the last place I want to be.” The 32-year-old later followed up on social media by saying he “would like” to finish his career with the Ravens, but clarifying he “never said anything about retiring.” Henry is still producing at a high level and is not headed for retirement just yet. However, when he does consider retirement, he hopes to close out his career with the Ravens. Henry has produced 3,516 rushing yards and 32 rushing touchdowns in two seasons with the Ravens and is currently under contract through 2027.

ESPN’s Jamison Hensley believes Ja’Kobi Lane has been “the star” of Ravens training camp.

“This has been an outstanding start to camp for Lane, a third-round pick from USC who has become the team’s No. 3 wide receiver behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman,” writes Hensley. It was expected that Devontez Walker would ascend to the No. 3 receiver role in the offseason, but Lane appears to be pushing for early work in Baltimore. Lane isn’t yet more than a deep-league stab, but with Flowers and Mark Andrews presumably the lead targets in Baltimore, Lane does have some target vacuum runway if he takes hold of a job. He’s one to watch in preseason.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Ravens signed Zay Flowers to a four-year contract extension worth up to $140 million.

The deal includes $108 million in guarantees, according to Schefter. It’s a big payday for Flowers as he enters his fourth NFL season as the Ravens’ clearcut No. 1 wideout. Flowers has 237 receptions for 3,128 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns since entering the league in 2023, working mostly as a slot guy in the run-heavy Baltimore offense. Ravens coach Jesse Minter said in late July that he looks forward to getting Flowers the ball “in as many ways as possible” in what could be a new-look offense under first-year OC Declan Doyle. Last season Flowers was targeted on a healthy 25 percent of his pass routes, ranking 19th out of 115 qualifying wideouts.

Ravens HC Jesse Minter said “I don’t know that there’s a deadline” in naming a starting center.

“On of them in the mix of the battle is coming off an injury. That timeline may or may not be perfect for that first game,” Minter relayed via the team’s website Monday. Recent signee Ethan Pocic is coming off a torn Achilles in Week 14 of the 2025 season but possesses the most starting experience of the players battling to supplant longtime starter Tyler Linderbaum following his departure in free agency. Minter’s comments, while slightly vague, seem to point towards Pocic as the desired starter, assuming his injury recovery continues to progress without hiccup. Fellow free agent additions Danny Pinter and Jovaughn Gwyn will compete with Pocic for the starting role.

Ravens restructured DL Broderick Washington’s contract.

According to Spotrac, the Ravens and Washington agreed to a fully guaranteed, one-year, $2 million contract, freeing up $2 million in cap space for the Ravens this season. Washington suffered a torn Achilles last season but avoided the PUP list to begin training camp. The sixth-year vet has proven to be a reliable rotational piece for the Ravens since being drafted in 2020, but faces stiff competition for playing time with Nnamdi Madubuike and Calais Campbell back in the mix for this season.

Ravens DL Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) has been cleared to return to the field.

Madubuike was placed on the active/PUP list to begin camp, but the 28-year-old lineman has been cleared by doctors to return to the field. According to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, the Ravens are now taking “time to assess his conditioning and acclimate his return to the field,” with the expectation being that he will be activated from the PUP list sometime this week. Madubuike suffered a neck injury in Week 2 of last season and there was some belief that he may miss all of the 2026 season, if not longer. Madubuike earned Second-team All-Pro honors in 2023 when he racked up 56 tackles, 13 sacks, and 11 TFLs, and has proven to be a premier player at his position when healthy.

Ravens signed WR Chris Moore, formerly of the Commanders.

Moore caught 11 passes with the Commanders last season. He initially entered the NFL as a 2016 fourth-round pick with the Ravens, and spent five seasons in Baltimore. The Ravens brought him aboard today after a workout that also included free agent WRs Sterling Shepard and Dante Pettis.
