    Packers released WR Robert Ferguson.
It isn’t like they were going to find a taker for his $1.8 million salary, although the Pack still saved some cap room. James Jones is now locked in as Green Bay’s third wideout with Ruvell Martin No. 4 and Carlyle Holiday probably No. 5. Houston will likely inquire about Ferguson’s services soon.
  • FA Wide Receiver #82
Ruvell Martin, Robert Ferguson, and Carlyle Holiday are likely competing for one roster spot in Green Bay.
Martin has shown a penchant for catching over-the-shoulder deep balls in camp, something he excelled at late last season. If Monday’s depth chart is any indication, Ferguson is a goner. Holiday is the biggest long shot.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, WR Carlyle Holiday (knee) is “highly questionable” for Week 2 after sitting out Thursday’s practice.
With WR Greg Jennings (hamstring) also hurting, the Packers may go into this week’s game with only three receivers. “The wide receiver depth is a concern,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “You’re one play away from being out of some personnel groupings. That’s what you try to avoid in game-planning. That’s the reality of where we’ll be. We have some backup plans.”

Packers placed WR Carlyle Holiday on injured reserve, ending his season.
Holiday had a career-high nine catches last year, but the team couldn’t wait for him to get healthy.
  • GB Wide Receiver
The Giants recently hosted free agent WR Carlyle Holiday, RB John David Washington, and QB Jeff Smith.
These are camp body players. Holiday was released by the Packers in late February. Smith appeared to be an interesting prospect coming out in last year’s draft, but wasn’t taken. He played college ball at Georgetown (KY).

    Packers released WR Carlyle Holiday.
Holiday had only nine catches in two years with Green Bay. He’s mostly a special teamer.
  • GB Wide Receiver
Cardinals Carlyle Holiday and Kendrick Clancy are inactive in Week 13.
Rookie Brandon Johnson is also down. No other big names.
  • GB Wide Receiver
Packers claimed WR Carlyle Holiday off waivers from Arizona.
He may help on special teams and possibly returns.
  • GB Wide Receiver
Cardinals released WR Carlyle Holiday and FB John Bronson.
Both are candidates to be re-signed to the practice squad. Neither made an impact on the active roster. Holiday had no catches in four games.
