Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase continued his terrific season in Sunday’s victory over the Browns with six catches for 97 yards — including a 32-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

After Sunday’s win, Chase now has 1,510 yards this season, which is a new franchise record. Chase broke his previous mark of 1,455 yards from his rookie season in 2021.

“It feels good. It’s something I wanted to do,” Chase told reporters after the game. “Me being competitive, I want to compete with myself, so it was a good thing I did that. It was a goal for me.”

After starting the season 1-4 and falling to 4-8 in Week 13, the Bengals have now won three in a row to keep their postseason hopes alive. They have a chance to get back to .500 and gain a key tiebreaker when they play the Broncos on Saturday in Week 17.

“We know what we’ve been through to get here,” Chase said “We just have to stay as a unit with this team, and everybody should be on the same page and communicating. Just executing when it’s time to execute, and when you’ve got to be in position, you’ve got to be there. Everyone is doing a good job just taking it a week at a time and taking care of business.”

It wasn’t exactly pretty, but the Bengals kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a 24-6 victory over the Browns on Sunday.

Receiver Ja’Marr Chase broke his own franchise record for single-season receiving yards during the contest, as Joe Burrow tossed three touchdown passes.

Cincinnati held a 17-0 lead at halftime with Burrow TDs to Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas. The Bengals got their last touchdown with 1:44 left in the fourth quarter, as Burrow connected with Chase for a 32-yard score.

Burrow finished the day 23-of-30 for 252 yards, losing a fumble. Chase caught six passes for 97 yards, giving him 1,510 on the season. His previous single-season franchise record was 1,455 — set in his rookie year of 2021.

On the other side, Dorian Thompson-Robinson started his first game of the season and looked overmatched. He ended the day 20-of-34 for 157 yards with two interceptions. He also rushed for 49 yards on nine carries.

Jerome Ford had 92 yards on 11 carries with a 4-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Now at 7-8, the Bengals will host the Broncos for a significant matchup on Saturday afternoon. Cincinnati needs Denver to lose out for its best shot at making the postseason, and can do something about it next weekend.

The 3-12 Browns will continue playing out the string next week against the Dolphins at home.

Ja’Marr Chase has been putting together a terrific season and he’s reached a significant milestone in Sunday’s game against the Browns.

Chase broke his own single-season franchise record for receiving yards. Chase entered the game with 1,413 yards this season, just 42 yards shy of the 1,455 he finished with in his rookie year. So far on Sunday, he has four catches for 50 yards.

He set the new mark with an 11-yard catch in the second quarter.

While the Bengals currently are not in the AFC playoff picture, Chase is putting together a great season. He entered the day leading the league with 102 catches, 1,413 yards, and 15 touchdowns.

The Bengals need to keep winning to keep their slim postseason hopes alive, and they’re not having much trouble with the Browns on Sunday.

Cincinnati has a 17-0 lead over Cleveland at halftime.

Joe Burrow tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the first two quarters. He capped a 99-yard drive with a 2-yard scoring strike to Tee Higgins midway through the first quarter — getting the pass off just before his knee hit the ground for a sack. Burrow then connected with receiver Andrei Iosivas for a 6-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter.

While Bengals kicker Cade York — who was drafted by the Browns in the fourth round a couple of years ago — missed a 47-yard field goal wide left in the first quarter, he nailed a 59-yard attempt as time expired in the half.

The Bengals have been dominant, gaining 15 first downs to Cleveland’s three. The team has outgained the Browns 229 to 86.

Making his first start of the season, quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson again looks overmatched. He’s 3-of-6 passing for just 15 yards. He’s rushed for 10 yards on five attempts.

Jerome Ford started the game with a 66-yard run but finished the half with 69 yards on three carries.

The Bengals will receive the second-half kickoff.

The Browns looked like they were going to power whiter way into the end zone for an early 7-0 lead.

But after a fumble and a 99-yard drive, the Bengals are up 7-0 instead.

Cleveland running back D’Onta Foreman lost the football just before he could cross the goal line, with the Bengals recovering at the 1-yard line. Jerome Ford had gotten the Browns deep into Cincinnati territory with a 66-yard gain on the game’s first play from scrimmage.

The Browns gave up 5 free yards with a neutral-zone infraction and then the Bengals got to work. The club did not face a third down en route to the end zone, as quarterback Joe Burrow got a pass off just before he could hit the ground for a 2-yard touchdown to Tee Higgins.

Burrow was 4-of-4 for 41 yards on the possession. Tee Higgins caught three passes for 27 yards with Ja’Marr Chase catching one for 14. Chase also had a 7-yard carry.

Chase Brown also picked up 46 yards on three carries, including a 22-yard gain.
