Steelers placed LB Clint Kriewaldt (neck) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Kriewaldt is mostly a special teamer, but also the Steelers’ third inside linebacker. Lawrence Timmons will move into that role for the playoffs. Kriewaldt is under contract with Pittsburgh through the 2008 season.

Steelers released TE Jerame Tuman and LB Clint Kriewaldt.
Tuman was an easy cut. He has chronic back issues and was replaced by Matt Spaeth. The move cleared $1.4 million in salary off the books. Kriewaldt is expendable because Lawrence Timmons will stay inside in 2008.

Steelers DE Aaron Smith (sprained knee) could start in Week 10 according to Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.
Smith has missed the last two games and will work a limited practice schedule this week. LB Clint Kriewaldt (bruised calf) is questionable and TE Jerame Tuman is questionable “at best” according to Tomlin.

Free agent LB Clint Kriewaldt’s career is reportedly in jeopardy due to a neck injury.
Once a top special teamer and backup inside ‘backer, Kriewaldt was cut by the Steelers this winter. He’s 32, so it’d be a surprise if he plays again.

Clint Kriewaldt hurt his ankle in the fourth quarter yesterday, but coach Bill Cowher said he should be fine.
Kriewaldt has 26 tackles on the season - he should be available for week 16 against the Browns.
