Bills signed Alabama DL DJ Dale.
Dale (6’1/302) epitomizes the rotational Alabama linemen that will likely fill the same role in the NFL. He is adept at making plays through blockers to the ball carrier because he struggles to disengage from blocks. Dale has a prototypical teapot build, taking advantage of it to gain lower leverage against taller players. He loses energy quickly on longer developing plays but has a good burst at the snap. Dale doesn’t win often with his hand leverage but is a stereotypically heady player coming out of Tuscaloosa. Staying near home for college, he also earned a Master’s degree during his four years at Alabama. Dale likely can flex between one Tech and three Tech, although coaches may limit him to a head-up nose role due to his height.
