Cowboys signed Kansas OT Earl Bostick.
Bostick (6’5.75/309) was a 2-star recruit and the 212th-ranked offensive tackle in the 2017 recruiting class, from Barnwell, South Carolina, according to 247 Sports. Bostick began as a tight end for the Jayhawks, but transitioned after gaining only 1 catch, albeit for a Touchdown, in two years. With over two full years of starting experience, Bostick demonstrates good athleticism and carries his added weight primarily in his lower body. He has the speed to get upfield quickly, although he wasn’t asked to do so very often in Lawrence. He still needs to add muscle to his upper body to regularly move defenders from their spots and keep up with his lower half. An NFL coach will also have to teach him how to properly block on angles as everything exists on a single plane across the line of scrimmage for him. Think of this as a long-term project with a lower upside than Nate Solder.
