Fred Taylor is still struggling with the foot problems that plagued him during the preseason.
Uh oh. While he took part in team drills in practice Thursday, the foot is sore and he was placed on the injury report as probable. Taylor may also be on the field less on third downs because of passing game issues. All that said, he’s still a fine play this week versus an average Denver rush defense.

Fred Taylor was added to the injury report as probable with a foot injury.
He practiced Friday and will be ready to start this week versus the Broncos. In a comment that won’t especially please fantasy owners, Taylor said he was unconcerned about personal stats. He’s still a good play this weekend.

As expected, Fred Taylor will sit out Jacksonville’s final preaseason game.
We’re a little concerned, but we’ll trust coach Jack Del Rio that the team is just being cautious.

Fred Taylor could lose his job in short-yardage situations for Jacksonville.
Taylor was stuffed on at least three critical short-yardage situations on Sunday. Jacksonville will likely look to second-round pick Greg Jones. Jones only has a smidgen of fantasy value as a vulture. But Taylor, who already is losing third-down snaps, is set up for a drop in fantasy value this season.

Coach Jack Del Rio continues to defend Fred Taylor’s ability in short-yardage situations.
“Fred can handle that [short-yardage] situation very easily. We just have to block better at the point of attack " Del Rio said. Many observers still believe Jacksonville will turn to rookie Greg Jones more often.

Fred Taylor insists he’ll be “fine” for the next Jacksonville game on November 14th.
The big question is who will be handing the ball to him. If Byron Leftwich is out, Taylor could become the focal point of the offense again.

Fred Taylor said he will start Jacksonville’s next game, “without a doubt.”
“I feel a lot better than I did a few days ago, but that’s how it usually is with that kind of injury,” Taylor said of his hip pointer. He’s a buy low candidate.

  • JAC Running Back
Coach Jack Del Rio fully expects Fred Taylor to start in week eight.
Taylor is listed as questionable with a quadriceps injury. As long as he practices Friday, he’s a strong play versus the Texans.
